About Our Pastor

Tom Foster

Thomas Lloyd Foster was born on June 1, 1954 in Tupelo, Mississippi, one of twin sons born to Reverend Fred and Pat Foster. As a teenager he became extremely involved in the service of the local church, organizing and leading a bus ministry. He was responsible for consistently bringing more than one hundred people to church on his bus alone!

Upon graduation from high school, he entered Northeastern Louisiana University where he received a Bachelors Degree in General Studies. He also attended Twin Cities University where he received his Masters of Arts Degree. Soon after graduation he began to realize that his calling in life was one of working in the ministry rather than in politics or law.

After serving the local church in diverse offices and functions for several years, he and his wife, Gayla, began to evangelize in churches all across the United States. Finally, in 1982 they moved to Dallas, Texas to accept the pastorate of Dallas First Church. From the early beginnings of about one hundred and fifty members to the current roster of over seven hundred, Pastor Foster’s infectious positive attitude has been the steering mechanism by which the entire assembly is directed.

Not only on a local level but also nationally and internationally, Pastor Foster is known for mentoring and encouraging others. He travels extensively across the United States and abroad training and inspiring other ministry leaders.

Pastor Tom Foster is a true Christian, a man of his word, and a man of faith who exudes boldness, confidence, and enduring compassion. He is a visionary on a mission. He and his family are committed to the work that God has called them to here in the Dallas Metroplex.
